Venice Tap Water

If you are like me and are worried about your Venice tap water quality, you are not alone. Venice, Italy, is one of the most photographed places in the world. I love to go there and take pictures of the beautiful city, but I am a little more concerned when it comes to my drinking water. My Venice Water has been tested and found to contain various contaminants and organic materials that can cause some significant problems for you and your health.

My Venice Water tested positive for six different contaminants. The highest was Giardia and was linked to a variety of health problems. Then several organic substances were found in Venice tap water. This includes things like E Coli and Cryptosporidium. All of these things can cause serious illnesses or even death. I know because I was diagnosed with some of these very things and have had to take many medications to cure them.

The good news is that all of these things can be prevented, and the best way to do this is to install a water filter at home. A filter will remove any organic material from your Venice tap water before it ever makes it into your glass. It will also remove any harmful bacteria that may be living in your pipes. When I took my first filter system to Venice, I was amazed at the difference it made.

Yes, tap water in Venice, Italy, is safe for drinking. As a member of the EU must follow strict Drinking Water standards. You can bring an empty bottle and fill it up from the water fountains, one way to help Venice free from hazard environment. More than 20 million estimated people visit our Venice city every year. Therefore, millions of plastic bottles the guests leave behind add hugely to the city’s already significant waste disposal dilemmas.

Still, no city in the world can boast of having such a gorgeous and photographed landscape as does Venice. It truly is an awe-inspiring and romantic sight to see. The first thing you will notice is that Venice is divided into several distinct districts or areas depending on how you want to look. Each section contains a unique and wonderful attraction that will surely make you want to return.

You will enjoy seeing the Festa Della Strada, a famous street fair that occurs every year during summer. It is held on the first Friday of each month and is attended by millions of people who come from far and wide to attend this fantastic event. Along with the fair come beautiful watermarks throughout the city. You will also find plenty of shops, markets, museums, and other attractions to keep you occupied during your time in Venice.

If you happen to visit during the winter months, you can enjoy a Sonderneseini or a water taxi. The water taxis travel along the Venetian lagoon canals making your water vacation a scenic and romantic ride around town. If you do not like the idea of riding the water taxi, you can always rent a bicycle and go for a leisurely bike ride. Venice Drinking Water

Venice, the City of Love, cannot be compared to any other city in the world regarding the cleanliness and freshness of their drinking water. Venice has been receiving water from the mountain since medieval times, and up until now, the water is still safe enough to drink. But the problem comes in when there are too many people who want to use the water and pollute it with their filth. The purest of this water can only be guaranteed by having a water purification plant right in your neighborhood or Venice itself.

Since Venice is famous for having many distractions, having a water purification plant right there on the water source can only mean clean and safe drinking water for all of the inhabitants. You should take note, though, that not just any type of water purification system will work for you. The water must be allowed to settle first before it can be cleaned and then undergo various processes that will effectively remove all the unwanted particles in the water. This way, the water will become a liquid form and be fit for human consumption.

In Venice, much pollution is already present, especially in areas where many factories are being constructed due to high growth and economic development. These factories tend to release any harmful substances into the soil and air creating health risks. With all these factors considered, we must maintain our water supply to provide clean and pure water for all of us to drink. So if you want to stay healthy and fit, do yourself a big favor and start looking for a Venice drinking water purification plant today.

Source of Water in Venice, Italy

The water in Venice is piped in from the mainland. The water originates from an area famous for bottled water found 30 km from Venice. And the central part of it begins from underground wells 300 meters deep, completely protected from human activities.

In the ancient years, though Venice was built on a swampland area in a salty lagoon, so its underground had nothing else to give than saltwater. Venetians found a solution to have drinkable water from filter rainwater.

Initially, they have to find a big surface around every well. The next step was to dig these “campi” and “Corti” 5 to 6 meters underground, and use clay, which is accessible in significant amounts in the Venetian soil, to create a solid isolating layer at the bottom. Then these great, and deep holes had to be filled in with river sand of distinctive dimensions. Finally, 2 or 4 gutters were built and set symmetrically throughout the well, which would drain the rainwater from the campo and get it to pass through the sand below its surface. Why squares are not flat but tend rather than to lower around every gutter? So it will be easier for the water to flow towards them naturally.

To save money at lunch, eat standing up - that's what Venetians themselves do. Every cafe, trattoria, osteria, enoteca or whatever it chooses to call itself is stocked at lunchtime with cicchetti - Venetian tapas, including tramezzini (triangular sandwiches on white bread), bite-sized rolls with various cold cuts, polpette (fried balls of minced fish or meat) and assorted antipasti. Order by pointing at what you want on the glass shelves, and wash the whole thing down with a glass of wine (un' ombra) or a spritz (made with, in order of bitterness and alcohol content, Aperol, Campari or Select). Bear in mind that as soon as you allow yourself to sit at the table and be waited on, instead of ordering and consuming your food at the counter, the prices for the same items go up - you can end up paying double. If you look at the (government-mandated) chart of prices stapled to the wall near the bar, you'll see 2 columns of numbers, accommodating this arrangement. However, sitting is worth it if you plan on staying a while. Some places will also serve bread and water for seated patrons, but then there is usually also a small charge (€1-3 per person) for "pane e coperto" (bread and cover charge).
