From my travels around Europe, I have concluded that there is a great deal of concern about tap water quality in Karlsruhe, Germany. I also found that one of the reasons for this concern is that many people do not drink tap water directly from the taps. Instead they use bottled water or bottles that are tied to a tap. Bottled water can be very dangerous, and I am convinced that this is one of the causes of the rise in health problems around the world.

I think one of the most important reasons is that it is so easy to access. You only need a couple of meters to install a tap water filter. And if you live in a flat without an underground storage tank, then you can even bring your own filter with you to the water tap. In fact, most of us in Karlsruhe still bring our own filtered water to work. We would never risk getting contaminated with tap water. If you have kids, then I think it is a really good idea to install an under-the-sink water filter system.
