"Vida o Algarve", a Portuguese film, was released in 2020 by the local production company "Riot" from Lisbon. It was directed by Miguel Gomes and it centers on the search of an Algarve girl, Isabel (Iris), who has gone missing after her boyfriend''s van is stolen.

When the police arrive at the scene, they find Ayma Alemir with her hands cut off and her arms tied to a tree. The reason for her attack is unknown as her boyfriend has escaped. A policeman named Ricardo is assigned to her case and he goes out in search of Ayma Alemir''s attacker. He also becomes involved in the crime.

Drago is a detective and Ricardo''s partner. The two are the best of friends and their relationship develops throughout the movie. The movie is centered around Drago''s relationship with Isabel and they share a passion for collecting old artifacts. Drago discovers that Drago''s father is a collector of artifacts and Drago''s search for the same eventually leads him to Isabel.
